  • Client: Mmm, I can't guarantee we can still give you that deposit anymore.
  • Me: That was clearly outlined in our contract.
  • Client: Contracts are just paper.
  • Me: I'll have wait to begin work on the project once the deposit is received.
  • Client: YOU CAN'T DO THAT. YOU ARE HOLDING OUR PROJECT HOSTAGE!
  • Me: No, you are holding our deposit hostage.
